III FESTIVAL OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION1
OCTOBER 8-10th, 2010
Dear friends and colleagues! We invite you to participate in the main event of the year dedicated to the role of non-formal education in the improvement of quality of life!
Festivals and Weeks are popular as a form of promotion of non-formal education and adult education in many countries. Belarus joined the festival movement in 2006. Since then, the Festival has become a traditional platform for discussion of current issues and prospects for the development of non-formal education in Belarus and European countries. The international character of the Festival is pronounced more than usual this year. Special events of the Festival of non-formal education are included in the program of the traditional Week of Germany in Belarus.
The aim of the III Festival of non-formal education is to demonstrate the
contribution of non-formal education in the improvement of quality of life.
Goals of the Festival 2010 are:
- to present non-formal education as a system that ensures the lifelong development of social, civic, professional skills and creative abilities of a person;
- to present a variety of programs (for youth, elderly people, rural residents, people with disabilities, families, women, men, professional groups, non-governmental organizations, etc.).
- to promote exchange of experiences and establishment of partnership relations;
- to discuss trends and strategies of the development of non-formal education as an instrument for the improvement of quality of life in Belarus and abroad.
During three Festival days the following activities will take place:
- presentation of the variety of educational programs and projects;
- master classes performed by the best educators;
- creative contests;
- discussions on topical issues of development of non-formal education in our country and abroad;
- interesting cultural program;
- meeting potential partners for realization of your own initiatives.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE III FESTIVAL OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION
Representatives of organizations and institutions working in the field of non-formal education in Belarus and other European countries are invited to take part in the Festival.
Participation is planned in the following forms:
- speaking at section, round table, panel discussion;
- organizing of a workshop, demo-course or training;
- presentation of a book or other published materials;
- presentation of an organization;
- publication in “Adukatar” magazine;
- open participation.
For publication in “Adukatar” magazine texts of main papers, reports and presentations are accepted, which will take place during the plenary sessions, panel discussions, thematic sections, round tables and workshops of the Festival. The size of each publication should not exceed 3000 words. Materials for publication should be sent before the 20th of August, 2010 by e-mail: fest.nfe@gmail.com.
For participation in the publications contest publications of three types are accepted (printed nonserials, periodicals and electronic publications), issued during 2008-2010 and devoted to any aspects of non-formal education, including theoretical, methodical, reference and other works. The application for the contest should be made no later than September 10, 2010 and two copies of the publication should be sent to the Organizing Committee no later than September 20, 2010. You should contact the head of the technical group of the Festival Olga Saevets (contact details below) on the handing of publications.
Registration fee for participation in the Festival is paid during the registration of participants and guests of the Festival on October 8, 2010 immediately before its start. Registration fee for participation in the Festival is (for one accredited organization):
- for Belarusian participants – 35,000 Belarusian rubles;
- for international participants: with accommodation – 90 euro; without accommodation – 70 euro.
Registration fee gives the full accreditation at the Festival, including informational materials (with the special issue of «Adukatar» magazine), space for organization/project presentation stand, place for a workshop or a presentation course, coffee breaks, dinners on October 8 and 9, 2010. Full accreditation can be received by 2 persons from organization maximum.
Please, pay attention, that travel expenses are not covered by the Festival organizers.
